Hey all.

Is this my first post to the SA list? better late than never. . .no, I'm
just remembering that it isn't. I want some Corn Pops (no pun intended, I
liked those waaaaay back when. . .). I just bought them at Walgreens (along
with speakers for the trip to Detroit to see Third Eye Blind with Jessica
"the Candle" Hosey. . .:-). Anyway. This is what inspired me. . .

>Jason, trying to make ends meet, I'm a slave to the money then I die.

Okay, about this line from the Verve - it's just not me. I know just what
they're saying here, and Bittersweet Symphony is one of those "soundtrack
to my life" songs, and I groove to it at Popmart and in teh car and
shelving books and all that. . .but - the very thing that Popmart gave me
was a feeling of freedom to from being a salve to the money. An
Emancipation Poplication, if you will (and it's okay if you won't.) Sure, I
have to make a lot of it, but I spend it like it's water, too (and this is
a poor college kid talking). It's put things in perspective. I've been able
to see 9 Popmarts without going into debt (yet, let's not talk about South
Africa), and so I don't have a lot of money to spend, the Great God of
Spendthriftness hasn't stuck me down with lightning and condemned me to
eternal damnation. Life's still pretty good. So I tell you all - don't
listen to the Verve! Free yourselves from the money! (Al Sharpton wig goes
on) Can I hear ya? I said free yourselves, mah brothas and sistahs? Let me
lay mah hands upphon yah! Say PRAISE THE LEMON! HALLELEMONJAH! HALLELEMONJAH!

I have *too* much free time.
