at the airport look for someone holding up a sign with your name on it or
one that reads "Wire" as you leave customs.

Airport Transfers

transportation from the Cape Town airport to The President Hotel. Her

*** Dana and Katie, there are 4 others arriving in Jo-burg (see my
Itineraries message from yesterday) just after you get in, at 11 and 11:25
am. If you don't see your name on a sign, look for them (Jason, Mat,
Christian, Allison) or someone holding signs with their names when you exit
customs. You're all going to the Hyatt. ***
*** Aja, there are 2 others arriving an hour after your flight (Allison and
Patrick at 10:15 am on Virgin 601). If you don't see a sign with your name
or 'Wire' on it, hang out until they arrive and look for them - I doubt
he'll have time to take you to the guest house and come back. ***
For Cape Towners, Colleen will arrange the transportation from the airport.
I will make sure she has the information that I have for everyone. If
there is a problem with your flight or you don't see anyone at the airport,

Guest House in Jo-burg

The guest house is 5-10 minutes from the Hyatt in Rosebank. The house is
in an area called Orchards next to Rosebank. It will be $35/person/night
for a double room, and $44/person/night for a single. I have asked Uwe to
reserve a single for Allison for 3/19, a double for Patrick and Aja from
3/19 - 3/23, and a double for Karen I and Christine for 3/20 - 3/23. If
ANY of you need to change this or cancel let me know by 9am tomorrow
(Thurs) EST. After that, contact Uwe at +27 11 792-6836 or on his cell
phone at +27 83 750-2766.

Soweto & Krugersdorp

We have reservations for 9 people for Soweto on Sun ~1pm from the Hyatt.
It is with Jimmy's Face to Face tours. We must confirm this number 24
hours in advance (I have not heard back from Karen I and Christine yet)
with Jimmy's or with Uwe. The Hyatt will have the number for Jimmy's and I
will bring it with me as well.
I need to confirm with Uwe tomorrow am about Krugersdorp. I believe we
have reservations for 7 for an open air Land Rover guided drive at
Krugersdorp on Monday morning (Christian, Allison, Jason, Mat, and Patrick
are definites, waiting to hear from Karen I, Christine, Dana and Katie).
Pre-Show Gatherings

Cape Town: I figured with only 6 of us going, we'd make our own gathering
wherever we choose. The Hard Rock is in the Waterfront and is not far from
the hotel.
Jo-burg: I have not been able to contact the proprietor of Cantina Tequila
at the Randburg Waterfront - apparently that location has closed since I
was there. Uwe will give me the phone numbers to a couple other places
(including Tijuana 220's near the Hyatt and the HRC about 10 minutes north
of Rosebank) tomorrow, and I will call a few. We should plan this for
Friday, 3/20.
I guess that's it for now. I will send out one final update tomorrow.
After tomorrow, I will likely not be reachable by email, but see the hotel
information for phone numbers to reach me.
