Subject: The destruction of the Rand
For anyone who remembers, when we were in Jo'Burg, the exchange rate on
the Rand was almost exactly 5 to the dollar. In the last three months,
it's deflated quite a bit to 5.2 to the dollar.
Well, the last two days, documents leaked out showing the South African
gouvernment had spent billions of rand this year to try and save the
currency. This brought out all the currency sharks, and the rate is now
down to 6.5 to the dollar as of this morning.
Anyone up for an (even cheaper) cheap holiday? ;-)
