During the ZooTV tour, lots of noise was made about the numbers and stats.
"So many miles of cable, so many thousand watts of power to run the show,
X hundred thousand dollars a day to keep it on the road." Well, without
much ado, my year in PopMart:
First show: April 25, 1997, Las Vegas Nevada
Last show: March 21, 1998, Johannesburg South Africa
Totals shows: 29 in 9 countries
Most expensive ticket: 160 Real (about $148.12) for 1/30/98 Sao Paulo
Cheapest ticket: $28.12 in Santiago. (I didn't write the local price
down...forget what I paid the scalper.) This doesn't include the few free
tickets I lucked out on.
Total miles traveled: 100,436 by train, plane, and minibus full of
hippies
Frequent flier miles earned: 74,961 on Northwest, 24,442 on United,
10,362 on American
Total hotel bill: $1589.34 (avg $55/show...not bad)
Total airfare bill: $5707 (not including company paid trips back for
meetings)
Total bill for a year in pop: Just over $14,200, or about $500 per show.
I think I need to come up with a way to make some money fast before the
next tour.... ;-)
And worth every penny. :)
Jason, never coming down
